For a student to earn an “A” for the daily or weekly participation grade the student is expected to work on projects, assignments, cleanup after oneself, and be active with class discussions. Working while talking is acceptable but talking and not working is not. If a student is absent they will not be responsible for participation grade for that day, but are still responsible to makeup work.
When progress reports are sent home they will be required to be signed and returned for a homework grade that the student is accountable for.
Art is a project based class that is graded with rubrics, critiques, test, quizzes, etc. Clear expectations are always set at the beginning with reasonable deadlines.
